GP Monaco 2026: Antonelli Crushes Monte Carlo, Leclerc Heartbreak at Restart, Russell Sinks

5 wins in a row. The youngest Monaco winner ever. Verstappen out lap 1. This was absolutely insane!

Monaco 2026 is going straight into the history books. Kimi Antonelli turned his pole into a clinical win. Despite the absolute mess behind him, the kid grabbed his fifth victory in a row. But honestly? The rest of the grid was a total battlefield. Verstappen out on lap 1, Leclerc crashing in front of his home crowd, and Russell collecting penalties like they were trading cards. Hamilton took 2nd, Hadjar grabbed a surprise 3rd. If you want to vibe with this F1 energy, check out our F1 2026 collection.

The Race: From Lap 1 Chaos to the Flag

The race was basically over for some before it even started. Verstappen, starting P2, just didn't move. Gearbox failure right when the lights went out. The guy had to watch the whole pack fly past him before crawling into the pits and retiring. Pure pain. That left the door wide open for Antonelli.

Kimi controlled everything from the front. By lap 10, he already had a 5.5s gap to Hamilton. Leclerc was third, and the Monaco crowd was going nuts. But then the Safety Car came out because Stroll binned it in the final corner. That's when things got really wild.

Then the restart happened. Absolute shocker: Charles Leclerc crashes at the exact same spot as Stroll. In front of his home fans! He was fuming, blaming the brakes ("This is unacceptable!" ). Brembo defended their gear immediately, but for Charles, the dream was dead again. Hard to watch, honestly.

The Day's Big Losers

DNF Charles Leclerc

Crashed at the restart in Antony Noghes corner. Home curse continues.

DNF Max Verstappen

Gearbox toast after lap 1. Nightmare for Red Bull.

Penalty George Russell

Double penalty, P13. He's losing touch with the lead. Total galere.

Penalty Pierre Gasly

Crossed the line P3, but pitlane penalties dropped him to P7.

Hadjar: The Hero Nobody Expected

In the middle of all this bordel, one name stood out: Isack Hadjar. The 20-year-old Red Bull junior was racing his first Monaco GP in F1 and landed straight on the podium. Sure, he got lucky with other people's penalties, but he kept it clean. First podium – and in Monaco!
